Nuestra Familia
The Nuestra Familia was formed behind the walls of California's Soledad State Prison in 1965. Formed as a deterrent to the ever increasing mistreatment of Northern Californian inmates throughout the state by the Mexican Mafia, the Nuestra Familia rapidly rose to power in the late 1960's through it's trafficking of narcotics and murder within the walls of California's State prison system. Famous for their military style of training regiment and chain of command. The Nuestra Familia is a highly sophisticated gang whose members are held to a strict code of conduct derived from the bylaws of it's own constitution.

The incident that sparked the bitter rivalry between the Nuestra Familia and La Eme occurred in 1968, a dispute that would have later implications on the streets and varrios of California, between NF member Hector Padilla and
La Eme leader Robert "Robot" Salas. In the course of a heated argument Hector Padilla was stabbed multiple times. The dispute, unbelievably, was over a pair of shoes. The Nuestra Familia would later take revenge by killing the top leader of La Eme Rudy "Cheyenne" Cadena.

Like it's counterpart the Nuestra Familia has grown over the past four decades and with the transferring of inmates from an over-crowded California Prison System the Nuestra Familia has spread it's tentacles of influence among tens of thousands of young Norteño street soldiers throughout the country.
